The average lead time is 10 days from receipt of approved artwork but repeat work or orders with pre-approved artwork can be even quicker. If you have a short timeline on your order, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help you achieve it.

The cost for standard next day delivery within Ireland is included in the price for orders over €300. The cost for same day or overseas deliveries will vary. 

Labels can fail to stick because of the wrong adhesive, low application temperatures, condensation, moisture, dust, oil or the surface of the packaging itself. Materials such as certain plastics can also be more difficult to label. Choosing the correct combination of facestock and adhesive for the surface and operating environment is essential for reliable adhesion.

Permanent adhesives are designed to create a strong lasting bond, while removable adhesives allow a label to be removed with little or no residue under suitable conditions. Freezer adhesives are formulated to maintain adhesion at low temperatures. The correct choice depends on the packaging surface, application temperature, storage conditions and how long the label needs to remain attached.

Yes, we specialize in these labels.When you need to label a small product with a lot of regulatory information, multi layer peel and read are often the only option.

The most popular options are either 3 printed pages (2 ply) or 5 printed pages (3 ply). 

Polypropylene labels offer excellent resistance to water and moisture, making them suitable for many applications where paper labels would deteriorate. However, the performance of the finished label also depends on the adhesive, printing method, ink or thermal transfer ribbon and the surface to which the label is applied. HB can recommend a suitable material construction for the application.

Direct thermal printers create an image by applying heat directly to heat-sensitive label material and do not require a ribbon. Thermal transfer printers use a heated printhead to transfer ink from a ribbon onto the label. Thermal transfer printing is generally preferred where greater print durability, longer label life or resistance to handling and environmental conditions is required.

It depends on the printing technology. Direct thermal label printers use heat-sensitive labels and therefore do not require a ribbon. Thermal transfer printers require a thermal transfer ribbon, which can be wax, wax/resin or resin depending on the label material and required durability. Some printers support both direct thermal and thermal transfer printing.

DPI refers to print resolution. A 203 dpi label printer  is suitable for many standard barcode, shipping and warehouse labels. A 300 dpi printer provides greater detail and is often preferable for smaller text, compact barcodes, small labels or applications requiring finer print quality. The right resolution depends on the label design, size and barcode requirements.
